Fragments
A skittery, erratic attempt at a weblog. Rambles will be indulged and depths will be plumbed. Who knows what I'll come up with?

Weather: Crisp and fall-like...how often does that happen for the first time on the first day of fall?
Listening to: some random annoying sound outside my window
Not doing:orgo assignment, anatomy reading, health psych studying

A moment of vertigo...

...when you realize there's no going back, because there's no credible way to explain who you used to be, or to explain who you are TO who you used to be, and so this who-you-used-to-be fades away like so much cast-off snakeskin rarefied by the sun. Or something like that.

Does that make me totally different? No. Does it change everything I ever liked about myself? No. Does it change everything anyone ELSE used to like about me? I hope not. Does it make me different enough to weird me out? Yes. Does it make me a better or a worse person? No idea. Yet.

I'm going to go study health psych now.

Weather:haven't left the building all weekend, what a slob...
Listening to: Edwin, "Alive"
Not doing: orgo questions, anatomy reading, english reading...*sigh* school....

Threw me for a loop...

So I'm sitting here procrastinating as usual, and one of my favourite things to do when I'm procrastinating is check out the uploads records from ResX. I like to see what of my music is desired by other people on campus, and I'm always happy when people download Tori or Arrogant Worms or other files that aren't as widely known -- someone downloaded Vienna Teng from me today and it made me really happy, for example.

For the past couple of days, though, I've noticed that a lot of people have been downloading a particular Tori Amos song from me and, though it made me happy, like a big idiot I couldn't really figure out why that was so popular. Then, tonight, after seeng that two people had downloaded it this evening alone, I realized that it doesn't actually have 'Tori Amos' in the filename -- it's just 11 Playboy Mommy, because it's #11 on the CD and I just copied it off the CD to send it to Julie without changing the name. Hmm. Resx has this option where you can see all the shared files of a user if you right-click on their names, so I checked their files...and sure enough, the vast majority of their collection is made up of one thing: porn.

Huh. Bet that download surprised them.

In other news, I was in the washroom this evening when I happened to glance down at the floor and what do I see? The silver heart charm off the bracelet that Ananda gave me. I didn't even CONSIDER that I'd ever see it again. Weird. And yay.

P.S. Before you people get anal on me about posting...I'm trying to get back into the habit, ok? Give me a chance....:)

Weather: Cloudy/slightly rainy
Listening to: MP3's
Not doing: much of anything...waiting for Tiff and Carol to get here

Pathogenesis!

Painted my pathogen suit yesterday...it's not bad, but I don't have anything near the artistry of some of my fellow health-scis...Tanya's suit, for example, is painted with BEAUTIFUL flowers...Olivia's is precise and neat...John painted Japanese characters and a ribbon of collagen that goes all around the suit (figures)...and Astra's, well, we all know that Astra does EVERYTHING perfectly. I swear, I thought she had iron-on transfers on her suit until she told me that, no, she just spent a day and a half painting Nemo.

It's so weird that I have a blue jumpsuit. I can't believe I'm an 'upper-year'...that just sounds STRANGE when applied to me. Nonetheless, I'm so excited for tomorrow...it's going to be so much fun! All I have to do now is rescue my bag of paints and patches that I accidentally left in Zain's room last night when we were painting, and put a couple of finishing touches on the back....

Ananda and Tiff are here. gotta go!!
